South Sudan are one of the weakest teams in the group stages of the 2025 CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualification. They came through a two-legged preliminary round tie against Sao Tome e Principe on away goals to reach this stage. They now face a South African side that have been improving in recent years but Hugo Broos’ side were held to a frustrating 2-2 draw against Uganda the other day with Burnley striker Lyle Foster needing to score a goal deep into second-half stoppage-time. South Africa, despite that frustration, remain firm favourites for this one.
