PREDICTION
In five games at UEFA EURO 2024, Spain have been magnificent. Luis de la Fuente’s settled and possession-based but more direct La Roja have been brilliant to watch and will set about this semi-final task looking to get on the front foot against France. However, both Dani Carvajal and Robin Le Normand are out suspended so that will mean an untested defence now comprises of an error prone goalkeeper behind Chelsea’s scapegoat, two centre-backs playing their trade in the middle-east and a 38-year-old right-back. France have scored three goals in this tournament with two scored by opposition players and the other being a penalty put away by Kylian Mbappe in a 1-1 draw with Poland. They have been miserable to watch and yet they, almost as ever at this stage, are in the final four of a major tournament. Didier Deschamps and Les Bleus will not care about the style and there is a lot more trust in them to get over the line against what has been a fun and exciting Spanish side. France are underdogs with the bookies but that means backing the two-time world champions is very good value.
